The United Kingdom government as with any other government is faced with the dilema of how many immigrants to allow to enter and remain in the UK and under what provisions of the law.  Successive governments employ various measures seeking to control immigration and sometimes these control measures succeed, at times they fail.

The UK Government’s immigration policy will have an undeniable political and economic agenda. Whilst the UK government needs to control immigration,  there is however  also a need to balance that with the rights of immigrants.
